> TASTE: Sarabeth Tribeca NYC

TASTE TEST
Sarabeth Tribeca NYC
339 Greenwich ST, New York, NY 10013
"It's so good they had to use TWO names for the restaurant name!"

My friend Leah and I were looking for a place to have "tea time," and after researching for a couple of days we found Sarabeth and thought it was the perfect stable priced place to have a "tea party."  HOWEVER, when we got there, there was no more tea time (as the waitress told us that the Afternoon Tea Menu was discontinued.)  HOWEVER, we were still able to find some delicious bites to eat for a late lunch.

Decor:

The setting of the whole area is very sophisticated and is perfect for a range of activities, from dates, to meetings, to hangouts.  There is no strict dress code necessary, but it is definitely fancy enough for you to feel fulfilled after a meal out!  The colors and tones of the interior are very earthy and match nicely with the wooden tables.  The lighting when facing the window is perfect for taking photos.

For my late lunch I got Pumpkin Waffles with poached pears and homemade whipped cream with pieces of pomegranate inside of it.

Thoughts:
I found that the pumpkin waffles were very filling (I couldn't even finish my meal!)
The whip cream was absolutely delicious (however, since I have a sweet tooth I wish there was more!) and the pomegranate seeds added the perfect tart taste.
The poached pear tasted as if it was infused with sugar and paired perfectly with the pumpkin taste in the waffles.
As for the syrup, they gave you the perfect amount to not completely drench your waffles but, to add enough sugar to excite your tastebuds (however, if you want more syrup the staff are always delighted to get you some more.)

Overall, this meal was perfect for waffle lovers (so Leslie Knope's all over) and for sweet toothed individuals (virtually everyone.)

My friend Leah got herself some steal oats with plain yogurt, strawberries, bananas and honey.

Thoughts:
The fruit was very fresh and the quantity was perfect to balance out the amount of yogurt in the dish.  Leah thought that the amount of honey was perfect (however, I felt like some more honey would have done the dish good.)

Overall, Leah absolutely enjoyed her dish for a bargain price of $7.50!

travel
SUMMARY:

Pros:
- the food looks absolutely beautiful
- the restaurant has a great ambiance and lighting for pictures
- the location is absolutely perfect (close to many train stops)
- the menu has various selections for breakfast and lunch
- you can make a reservation!
- the service is amazing and our waitress was very sweet

Cons:
- the price can lean on the more double or triple $$$
- the fact that we thought that we were going to be able to order an Afternoon Tea (as we saw it on their website and many others) was very misleading and disappointing when we realized they ended that entree

Overall, the Pros definitely outweighed the Cons and I am definitely coming back to try everything on the menu.  This place is so picturesque and I hope to visit soon.

To bring this post to a tie, the experience was absolutely amazing and next time I go I must try their margarita pizza or their Caesar salad!

LOVE YOU LOTS,
MWAH
